Evening Gown Question...

Q: So, for the evening wear bio, can we use more than fifty words? because that was what was hanging me up.

A: Fifty words needs to be the guideline. It is equally awkward to have the modeling finished and the dialogue is still going. If it goes over, the night of the full dress I will have to cut some words out and we'll decide together what words you want cut. Thanks Chelsea!

She may not be THE Miss Utah, but she's definately OURS

Angela and I went up to support our Erika at Miss Utah this past weekend. Its so frustrating when unless you get in the top 10 or win, you really don't know how well you did. EVERYONE noticed her, everyone had her in the top 10...what they don't know is Erika got the flu on the way up and didn't eat or keep anything down till 3 days in. She didn't complain or make excuses, she just continued. Erika made us proud, but its like I told her...I was far more proud before we stepped foot in that theatre than I would have been whether or not she won. Our goal wasn't to win Miss Utah, it was to make a difference and she has. This woman has been an INCREDIBLE representative and has become my friend. The lives she has touched are countless and the job Erika has done and continues to do is phenomenal. She truly is an exception to the rule and I hope she knows how proud we are of her. Probably 75% of those girls wanted the crown for the fame, glory, to feel like they were beautiful and to be praised. Erika wanted it to better the lives of others and would have rather not be in the spotlight, thats what makes her beautiful. "Light houses don't fire cannons to call attention to theirs shining, they just shine." Thank you for shining Erika.

Ya...I'll probably get into trouble for this one, we're all looking pretty stupid, but my camera was dying so I didn't have a chance to take another. It was late and we were all really tired so everything was funny at that point.

Angela was a bit obsessed with the cute little itsy bitsy bobbi pins...she's entertained pretty easily

I made her this box to haul all her makeup, hair, and jewelery crap to and from the theatre...or should I say I bought the tackle box at Wal Mart and got those sticky letters to spell her name and title. The 'I' rubbed off so she was just Miss Ron County...love it

FYI

Hi Mari, I have a couple questions regarding the Civic Service Summary also.
What is the time period we should use for this summary? (past 4 years, 2 years?) And also if I have service hours in another state in which i lived should I include those, or would it be better to just list those within Iron County?
The CMN Service Report- Is that to be turned in with our paperwork this Thursday? Or do we wait until the actual fun run?

Answer: Just use it as in any service you've ever done. And it is service where ever you have lived, service is service. The CMN report is not due with the rest of it, not until the fun run. Thanks Courtney

And just an FYI for you girls... ALL PAPERWORK IS DUE AT THE NEXT WORKSHOP WHICH IS THIS COMING THURSDAY AT THE HAMPTON INN, 6 PM. (By the way, Angela just let me know that it said 6 pm for the interview and we thought it was 6:30...so so sorry. We will start at 6 pm!)

Mass Emails

Girls if you haven't been getting a mass email from me periodically, will you let me know. Email me and let me know so that I can add you to my list.

Also....please change the date of the hair/makeup workshop with the production number one (which is mandatory). I don't have my list with me so I don't know exactly what dates are what, but would you please just switch them? Everything is the same, place and time, just switch the dates. Thanks!

For those of you who tried to download the Resume (Good job Aimee) and it wasn't working, I fixed it. Thank you so much for those of you who bring problems to my attention. This blog is a new thing this year and the online paperwork is to. Although I think it'll be SOOOOO much easier for everyone, you are unfortunately the first girls to try it out and find all my mistakes! Future contestants will thank you!
